Specialized Reading Tutor
Learning to Read. Reading to Learn.
An Integrated Approach.
“Susan was able to keep the sessions fluid and our daughter’s attention keen to participate. Susan was always upbeat, which resulted in a positive response in our daughter’s attitude toward her own reading potential and progress.”
The personal attention that makes a difference.
If your child is experiencing difficulty reading or struggling with diagnosed reading disabilities, ADHD, dyslexia or LD (learning disabilities), you are in the best of hands. Unlike most reading tutors with only public school teaching experience, my credentials include years of working closely with children and their families through Learning Disabilities Association Minnesota.
My approach is based on 1 on 1 individual attention and 18 years of experience in helping K-6 students achieve reading confidence:
Warm, assuring, positive manner that keeps kids engaged and encouraged
Best-practice strategies for working with learning disability challenges
Preferred reading tutor for Breck private school
Progress tracking and reporting via periodic emails
Suggestions for home practices to enhance tutoring sessions when applicable
“Susan is a committed professional who is self-assured when working with children and youth, many with extreme and complex learning, social, and emotional challenges.”
–Mike Piersak, Manager of Educational Services, Learning Disabilities Association Minnesota
