Beyond teaching in the Twin Cities public school system, my professional background includes a wealth of experience working directly with children and their families as a Learning Specialist tutor and Program Manager for Learning Disabilities Association Minnesota.
- Provided early intervention in the Minneapolis and St. Paul school districts
- Implemented prevention/intervention strategies for reading, writing and math
- Promoted the Raising a Reader program, an early literacy initiative
- Hosted Academic Family Involvement Nights and developed Parents as Partners program to engage parents in their children’s success
- Served as speaker and presenter on learning disabilities at Education Minnesota Professional Conference
- Authored the “ADHD Home and School Checklist” published in ADDitude Magazine
